Getting started

What is AnswerBee?

AnswerBee is deal recovery software: it helps teams find stalled revenue conversations in email, rank what is most at risk, and draft the next best follow-up using company context you control.

  • Gmail is the source of truth—thread detail is fetched just-in-time; we do not bulk-store your email history
  • Company context (docs, SOPs, FAQs, pricing notes) keeps drafts accurate and on-brand

What makes AnswerBee different from ChatGPT?

AnswerBee pairs inbox signals with retrieval from your company context so follow-ups reflect your real policies and tone. ChatGPT does not see your live threads or maintained doc library unless you paste them every time.

  • Built for revenue follow-up, not generic document Q&A

What is a workspace?

A workspace is where you store the documents AnswerBee uses to draft replies, alongside your saved drafts.

  • Typical uploads: SOPs, help center articles, onboarding guides, pricing docs, client notes
  • On Team plans, everyone shares team-visible documents; you can also add personal notes only you can use
  • Each workspace can hold shared team knowledge or personal reference material—or separate workspaces per client

Can I create separate company context libraries for different clients?

Yes. Each workspace can hold documents for a specific client or project, or you can combine categories within one workspace when that fits your process.

How does AnswerBee work?

AnswerBee is an AI response generator for support teams: it drafts replies from documents you trust. Instead of generic AI writing, it finds the most relevant information from your SOPs, help center articles, PDFs, and notes so you get knowledge-grounded AI responses you can send or edit right away.

  • Paste or describe the customer message
  • Review the draft, then copy—ideal for draft replies from documents your company already maintains

What types of documents can I upload?

Upload policies, FAQs, onboarding guides, pricing sheets, internal SOPs, and client notes—anything you want AnswerBee to follow when it writes.

  • Mix customer-facing help with internal playbooks in one workspace
  • Keep documents current so generate replies from SOPs stay trustworthy

Can I try AnswerBee for free?

Yes. New accounts include a 14-day trial so you can upload real documents and test real questions before you subscribe.

  • No payment card required to start
  • Use the trial to see how an AI customer support reply workflow feels with your own knowledge

What types of teams use AnswerBee?

AnswerBee fits teams that live in email and tickets and want faster, consistent answers from their own knowledge.

  • Agencies
  • Founders
  • Operations teams
  • Customer support teams
  • Freelancers
  • Consultants

Company context

How does AnswerBee use my documents?

When you ask for a reply, AnswerBee finds the most relevant passages in your workspace and uses them to draft the answer—so your AI customer support replies reflect your real policies, pricing, and processes.

  • You review every draft before sending
  • You can see which parts of your docs informed the reply

What file types are supported?

You can upload PDF, Word (.docx), plain text, Markdown, spreadsheets, slides, HTML, and CSV. From Google Drive you can import native Docs, Sheets, and Slides as well as common file types.

  • Paste text directly when you do not have a file handy
  • Formats supported in-app may evolve—check the upload screen for the latest list

Can I connect Google Drive?

Yes. Connect Google from company context to pick files from Drive after you grant access. Sign in with Google uses the same OAuth setup when your administrator configures it.

  • Drive import is optional—you can still upload files or paste text
  • The MVP focuses on copy-and-paste workflows; deeper integrations may come later

Does AnswerBee integrate with Gmail?

Yes for deal recovery: connect Gmail through Pipedream so AnswerBee can list threads, fetch a thread just-in-time for classification or drafts, and keep metadata in AnswerBee without storing full raw bodies.

  • Zendesk and other helpdesks are not in the MVP—copy/paste drafts still work for tickets

Can I paste text instead of uploading files?

Yes. Create a pasted document when you only have text—perfect for ticket excerpts, quick policy updates, or snippets from chat.

  • Useful when you are building company context incrementally

Can I organize documents into folders?

Use categories to group documents by topic—onboarding, pricing, a specific client, and more—so company context stays easy to browse and filter.

  • Combine categories with separate workspaces when you need a hard boundary between clients or projects

Can I upload client-specific knowledge?

Yes. Keep client or project material in its own workspace, or use categories so AnswerBee stays focused on the right context when you draft.

  • Many agencies and consultants maintain separate workspaces or categories for different clients this way

How many documents can I upload?

You can upload multiple documents—including PDFs, text files, and Google Docs via Drive. Exact limits depend on your plan; check Plans & billing for current allowances.

Generating replies

How does AnswerBee generate replies?

AnswerBee combines your customer message with the best-matching content from your documents to produce a clear draft—an AI response generator for support teams that starts from your rules, not the open web.

  • Tune tone and instructions in the product where available
  • Edit freely: the draft is a starting point, not a final send

Can I use AnswerBee for customer support?

Yes. Many teams use AnswerBee for repetitive customer emails—onboarding questions, pricing inquiries, scope clarification, and process explanations—using an AI email reply generator that stays grounded in your docs.

  • Ideal when you want consistent answers without re-reading long policies every time

Are replies accurate?

Accuracy depends on how complete and up to date your documents are. AnswerBee bases answers on what you uploaded—if something is missing, the draft may be incomplete.

  • Review before sending, especially for pricing, legal points, or deadlines
  • Refresh docs when policies change

Can I edit the generated reply?

Yes. Every draft is yours to change. Edit for tone, nuance, or edge cases before you copy or send.

Can AnswerBee match my writing style?

You can guide tone in the product so drafts feel closer to your brand. Including strong examples in your documents also helps the output sound like your team.

Does AnswerBee hallucinate?

No AI is perfect. AnswerBee is designed to stay close to your uploaded material, but you should still verify facts—especially money, dates, and legal language.

  • If something looks off, check the cited source or your original doc

How long does it take to generate a reply?

Most drafts finish in a few seconds. Time can vary with document size and system load.

Privacy and security

Are my documents private?

Your documents are stored for your account and workspace and are not published on the public web. Access follows your workspace membership and document visibility settings.

Who can see my documents?

People you invite to the workspace can see team-visible documents. Personal documents are only visible to you unless your workflow copies them into a shared doc.

Is my data used to train AI models?

AnswerBee uses your content to generate replies for you. We do not use your private workspace documents to train public foundation models for general-purpose AI products. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Can teammates access my documents?

Teammates in the same workspace can access shared team documents. Personal documents stay private to you.

How does team knowledge work?

On Team plans, shared documents are available to everyone in the workspace for drafting. Each person can still add personal notes for their own workflows.

  • Keeps company-wide answers consistent while allowing individual reference material

Billing

How does pricing work?

Open Dashboard → Plans & billing to see Individual and Team options, subscribe with Stripe, and manage invoices or payment methods in the customer portal.

  • Pricing shown in-app is current; plans may change over time

Is there a free trial?

Yes. New accounts include a 14-day trial—no card required to start in most cases.

Can I cancel anytime?

You can manage subscription changes from Plans & billing and the Stripe customer portal according to your plan terms.

Do you offer team plans?

Yes. Team plans include shared workspaces and shared company context so the team can generate follow-ups from the same documents.
